Kanguva producer makes tall claims, says Suriya-starrer will earn Rs 2,000 crore

KE Gnanavel Raja, producer of Suriya-starrer Kanguva, made a tall claim stating that the film will earn Rs 2,000 crore at the box office worldwide. In a recent interview, the producer expressed his confidence in the film and stated that he is sure of its success. The film, directed by Siva, was slated to release in theatres on October 10 alongside Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. However, it has now been postponed to November 14.
In a recent interview with Galatta, KE Gnanavel Raja was asked if Kanguva will become the first film to enter the Rs 1000-crore club from Tamil cinema. “He said, “Whether it earns Rs 500 crore, or Rs 700 crore or Rs 1,000 crore, I will post the GST challan on social media. After this, if you ask all producers to post their GST challans, you’ll get the exact numbers. ”
When the anchor asked if Kanguva will rake in Rs 1,000 crore,” Gnanavel confidently said, “I’m expecting Rs 2,000 crore, why are you stating less numbers?”
Suriya’s Kanguva has been in the making for nearly two years now. The release date of the film has been postponed a few times due to different reasons. However, the film’s producer KE Gnanavel Raja managed to keep Kanguva in the news with his tall claims.

Earlier, Kanguva was supposed to have a solo release on October 10. However, when the makers of Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan announced October 10 as the release date, the Kanguva team decided to postpone the film’s release.
Kanguva is tipped to be a fantasy action film, directed by Siruthai Siva. The film is jointly produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu and Natarajan Subramaniam are part of the film’s cast. Composer Devi Sri Prasad, cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy and editor Nishadh Yusuf form the technical team.
